Hospice of the Northwest — Hospice Services — Serving Skagit, Island, San Juan, & Snohomish Counties. 1-800-894-5877
What's Happening

Services are available to family members and friends of Hospice of the Northwest patients, as well as communities we serve — Skagit, Island, San Juan and North Snohomish Counties.

  • Bereavement Staff — can address your questions and concerns, suggest resources, and provide information about bereavement, by phone or in person. Short-term counseling for both adults and children is available to individuals whose loved ones were Hospice of the Northwest patients.
  • Hospice Resource Center — is a free lending library with books and other materials for adults, teens, and children. Topics include caring for family members during illness, coping with specific diseases, end of life concerns, grief and loss, and inspiration for challenging times.
  • On–going Support Groups — provide an opportunity to share experiences and feelings with others whose loved ones have died. Learn about the grief process, identify healthy coping skills, and feel comforted in discovering that you are not alone. Groups welcome new participants. No fee or pre-registration required. Call for location and scheduling information.
  • Educational Presentations and Staff Support — following a death are available for schools and community organizations, tailored to the needs of your group.

The journey through grief and loss has no map and sometimes it can be hard to tell where you are. The journey can be exhausting, and you may need to stop often to rest. Sometimes the road is smooth, sometimes it is bumpy, and sometimes you may hit a pothole. You may get stuck somewhere that you don’t really want to be. Then, hopefully, help comes along, and you are back on the road again. The Hospice of the Northwest Bereavement Team can be part of the helpful hands and hearts that support you through the ups and downs. For more information about understanding grief, click here.
